я.ты.город.
я.ты.город. is an author-driven media project about the cultural and natural heritage of Kirov region. It ran from 2018 to 2024 — from short photo and video posts to longreads with 360° panoramas and virtual spaces.
We covered cultural and architectural landmarks, natural territories and reserves, bicycle tourism across the region, industrial heritage, and neighbouring towns.
A separate layer was grassroots initiatives: community clean-ups, volunteer actions, historic-environment restoration festivals (including the local Tom Sawyer Fest, which later went on to restore the Vyatka Kremlin Arch), street festivals, and public spaces built by the residents themselves. The project didn't just show the territory — it was part of what was happening on it.
Achievements
- Winner of the regional «MediaMaster-2019» contest (blogger of the year, Kirov)
- Finalist of «Best Student Media Project» — International Forum «Eurasia Space» (Moscow, 2019); winner in the «Best Student Video Blogger» nomination (Karina Aloyan)
- Repeatedly shortlisted for the «University» contest (VmesteMedia) — in 2020 Karina Aloyan in the «Best Student TV Presenter» nomination
Outcome
The project built a library of video, photo, and text about Kirov region. The archive and the skills became the foundation for MetaVyatka and other projects.
